Autistic Spectrum Disorders

Second Skin prescribes a range of dynamic body splints for children, adolescents and adults who have been diagnosed with Autistic Spectrum Disorders.

Each splint targets particular medical, therapy, client and family goals. Dynamic splints are prescribed to assist clients who have a broad spectrum of autistic disorders.

Dynamic body splinting is prescribed where sensory feedback is the primary focus and when postural control, body awareness and associated skill development are being targeted by the client, family and therapy team. Body Splints allow easier handling, facilitating and care for families, school and therapy teams.

Splints for this client group are commonly prescribed with minimal or no structural (rigid) components, to allow participation in a full range of activities throughout their day. Fabric-based pelvic, trunk and shoulder girdle stability can be included in these splints where required.

Do not hesitate to contact us to discuss our splints.
