How do I wash my Second Skin Pressure garment?
For garments to perform at their best they must be treated with care. They should be washed by hand in warm water using a mild, non abrasive detergent e.g. Lux Flakes. Rinse garment well and gently towel dry. Dry garment away from direct sunlight.
Alternatively, garments can be washed in a front loader washing machine if first placed in a pillow slip or lingerie bag and washed on Gentle cycle only.
How often do garments need to be replaced?
It is dependent upon reason for garment use and what you are doing while wearing your garments. In the acute stages of injury your garments will need to be replaced more often.
I have eczema, is that a problem?
Your pressure garment can be customised to include a soft fabric that can reduce inflammation of skin conditions such as eczema.
If I have a colostomy, tracheostomy or gastrostomy is that a problem?
All the garments are custom made to fit each client and designed to accommodate all medical needs.
How hot is it to wear garments?
In the warmer weather, we can suggest practical ways to reduce heat in your garment, such as staying indoors in the warmer parts of the day.
Do I need a new garment if my swelling goes up or down?
Your garment can be altered within 6 months of manufacture. One retension within the first six weeks is included in the cost of the garment. Subsequent alterations can be made but these do incur a charge.
