We are pleased to report that we have now passed our verification audit, which maintains our status as an approved National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) provider.
The audit process is required every three years to ensure we meet the requirements of being an approved NDIS provider. Our audit process started in November 2021 and required us to gather up key data around our current forms and processes, including certifications for our clinical staff, which we then had to submit in early January 2022.
Specifically, the verification audit process involved the assessment of several key areas, including:
- Complaint Management – reviewing our policy and availability of feedback channels for our clients
- Human Resource Management – including ensuring all Second Skin clinic and therapy teams had their NDIS worker screening check, working with children check, and proof of on-going training and AHPRA registration for our therapists
- Incident Management – review of our policy and how we report incidents involving our NDIS clients
- Risk Management – review of our policies and insurances, as well as our infection control procedures, including COVID-19 management, PPE requirements and staff vaccination policy.
This comprehensive audit was conducted by Quantum Certification Services, one of the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission’s approved audit providers, and we were proud to receive their certification on the March 3, 2022.
We know how essential the NDIS can be in providing funds to pay for services, equipment and support to people living with a disability, so being a certified NDIS provider is just another way we can help empower our clients to reach their goals.
