In exciting news, we have just taken delivery of the ‘Pathfinder’ an automated digital cutting machine into our Perth head office.

Due to its size and accompanying components, it was delivered on two trucks and carefully wheeled onto our production floor.

The digital cutting capabilities of the Pathfinder will further enhance our cutting accuracy, while also increasing our productivity and reducing our fabric waste.

The next step after installation and setup will be to commence the training for our pre-production team.  This automation will be a big help to our team, not only will it allow them to increase their efficiency, but will also reduce the working fatigue brought on from manual cutting. The Pathfinder is also installed with multiple safety features to ensure our team continue to work safely, while cutting the fabrics.

The Pathfinder also provides the capability to draw and cut on other mediums, such as paper, card and vinyl, which will give us other potential possibilities.

We are looking forward to getting the Pathfinder online and integrated with our current digital design capabilities (Style Cad) to further streamline the design to production process in the making of our garments and splints.

Enhancing our digital capabilities throughout the design and production process is all part of exciting development plans at Second Skin and is just another way we can continue to strive to empower our clients to be their best and achieve their goals their way.
